The OBD Saver effectively prevents unauthorized access, via the OBD interface, to the control units located in the vehicle (e.g. control unit of the immobilizer).
The OBD interface is closed by the OBD Saver and it is not possible to connect an OBD interface.
The thief comes digitally. With his mini-computer, he can gain access to all system-relevant control units via the freely accessible node, the OBD socket, and accordingly manipulate them in a few seconds in such a way that a vehicle (regardless of make/class) can be stolen.

What is the difference between the two OBD Saver'n Universal?
Mounting by means of four screws is identical.
The OBD-Saver basic is coded (about 300 different variants) and recessed special screws, which are however freely accessible.
The OBD-Saver Universal PLUS offers increased protection because the mounting screws are locked / covered by means of a lock. Removing the lock is only possible with a key (approx. 650 different variants) and only then are the screws accessible.
How much space does the OBD Saver Universal BASIC need?
The OBD saver builds up in the mounted state about 13.5mm and thus stands this value beyond the OBD socket. Please ensure that any existing plastic trim does not interfere or adjust accordingly. On most vehicles the OBD socket is freely accessible and there are no interfering parts.

The OBD Saver Universal Basic is not compatible with Daimler AG (Mercedes Benz) vehicles, please use the specific OBD-Saver Mercedes Benz (SW10005) or OBD-Saver Universal Plus.
FAQ
F: Is the diagnostic socket destroyed or severely damaged?
A: No, the screws are positioned so that no short-circuit of the contacts is possible. The screws form the thread in a harmless place. The OBD socket remains 100% in its function There will be minimal traces of thread, but these have no negative impact.
F: Does the diagnostic port still work for the workshop/TÜV after assembly/disassembly?
A: Yes, the function and tasks of the OBD socket/diagnostic socket remain unchanged.
F: How do the screws hold firmly in the plastic?
A: Due to the special position and shape, plastic (diagnostic socket) and metal (OBD saver) form a firm connection. Also, due to its optimized nature, the OBDS does not provide a point of attack for forcible removal.
F: Wear of the thread / overwinding of the thread in the plastic ?
A: A guide in the OBD saver prevents overtightening. The screws are always guided in the same way, so that wear of the OBD socket (made of plastic) is minimized. Thread flanks and screws always meet at the same position.
F: Are there any problems with the warranty from the vehicle manufacturer?
